Cheap
Movie Nights
I’m sure by now that we all know of the cheaper tickets available at cinemas on
Tuesdays. Recently the deal has changed to include Mondays as well in a lot of
independent and smaller chains.
Village Movie Money,
Hoyts Hot Cash & other vouchers
Buying these sorts of tickets straight from the cinema itself still saves you
some money, but there are cheaper ways.
* Buy the tickets around special events like Christmas, Mother’s Day and
Father’s Day for further discounts on the tickets.
* Check with your own work, or ask friends if their work social club offers
discount movie tickets.
* If you only attend movies in the daytime, check with the cinema to see if
restricted tickets are available for purchase. I have used the Hot Cash version
which was another two dollars cheaper a ticket (already cheap through the social
club) because they had to be used before 5pm everyday.
* Purchase a calendar from the cinema. Normally released each Christmas/New Year
period these often have free and/or buy one, get one free passes in them. Ask if
you can look through the calendar before purchasing it too ensure that it’s of
value to you.
Waverly Cinema
Sign up to receive your Waverly Cinema card and start seeing movies for as
little as $1.90 each.
No, you didn’t read it wrong. Here are some examples:
* Scooby Doo 2 – Mon, May 31st at 5:30pm for $1.90
* In America – Mon, May 31st & Wed, June 2nd at 9:45pm for $1.90
* 50 First Dates – Thurs, June 3rd at 1:30pm for $1.90
